Delicious & Gluten Free in Budapest

Budapest was my 6th solo trip...

I absolutely loved it. It was a great place to travel solo as there is so much to see and I felt pretty safe all the time. Except when I was in one of the Thermal Baths there was a creepy guy staring at me, but us women get those wherever we go unfortunately!

The most wonderful part of my trip was my visit to Szechenyi Thermal Baths. Szechenyi is the largest medicinal spa bath in Europe. There are two big baths with warm and even warmer water. I spent hours there just bobbing around and relaxing in the warm water and getting sunburnt even though it was only March!

I also spent a day at the Gellert Thermal Baths. One of the pools was very hot I nearly fainted, but overall they were very relaxing.

If you're wondering how I took all these photos if I was on my own, the answer is my GoPro! I just set it up to record and place it on the side of the pool then later pull images from the videos. Its small, completely waterproof and perfect for my solo travels. The only issue is that the images aren't very high quality.

Another place to visit the Fisherman's Bastion, it is some stunning architecture and has amazing views across the city. It was hard to get good photos though because there were just so many tourists.

If you read my blog regularly then you will know that my go-to gluten free travel essential is microwave rice packets. If I'm just going away for a few days I'll bring a couple of them and they make a great, easy and gluten free base for a meal. I just added tuna and sweetcorn to a Mexican rice packet and it made a simple and filling dinner.

My apartment was really lovely. It was huge with high ceilings, beautiful parquet floors and in a really good location. It had a large kitchen and a TV with Netflix. I got a really good deal on Expedia, which is hard to do when you travel alone - travel prices aren't usually solo-friendly!
