Circolo Popolare, Fitzrovia

My first dinner out after the first Lockdown was at Circolo Popolare in Fitzrovia...

I had wanted to dine there since moving to London so it was the perfect place to catch up with the girls after being apart for 6 months.

We had originally planned to go there earlier in the year but I got struck down by Covid and then we went into Lockdown. We love to dress up and eat out at pretty restaurants so I have a long list of places to try, and I'm slowly making my way through them.

I'd always assumed that a place famous for their Sicilian trattoria fare wouldn't have gluten free options. I was partly right as they don't have the option for gluten free pizza or pasta, however, the gluten free options they do have are incredible.

I had the burrata followed by the tuna and polenta skewer. The food was delicious, had so much flavour and the portion sizes were good - the burrata was HUGE! I definitely didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by not being able to have pasta, like my friends.

Even though there weren't any gluten free pizza or pasta options, I would recommend trying out Circolo if you are gluten free. The decor is opulent, beautiful and interesting, the staff were friendly, and the food delicious.

Where will you be going after Lockdown 2.0?
