Mayonnaise Recipe

Being able to make your mayonnaise can give you more opportunity to try different flavours and it could often be cheaper.

Use this recipe as the basis of making homemade mayo then you can flavour it with whatever takes your fancy.

My favourite is Basil Mayonnaise, it's fragrant & creamy. Great with salad or as a dip, or even in a toasted sandwich. Just add about 30g basil leaves to the blender at the end.


2 egg yolks
1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp lemon juice
300ml sunflower oil

Blend eggs yolks, mustard & lemon juice in a food processor then VERY slowly pour in the oil until the texture of mayo. Season to taste.
